"At first, I felt that there were many procedures, but it is like everything to reach a goal requires work and effort, and it is motivating when one sees our children carried out in something productive and beneficial for their lives. We chose this bike with a color detail that lifts your spirits every day. My daughter bought the bicycle and laptop with her self-determination budget. Carla is an excellent person with a lot of experience, knowledgeable about services through the Regional Center and generic services. She has experience navigating the system to come up with a good plan. She will advocate for your loved one since she is also a mother and knows the disparity that we as Latinos go through before the Regional Center. Carla also specializes in being an independent facilitator, she has the knowledge of how to make any changes that occur during self determination. Self-determination is very different from the traditional system since with self-determination you have the freedom to choose who you want to work with, how much you want to pay, you can also add other services that are not covered with the traditional system. Self Determination has come to change my daughter's life for the better.

"Carla has been a joy to work with. She is so experienced, very responsive, and has been in the SD landscape for a while with her own son, so knows all the ins and outs. It was a fun process for my son and me, and we are very happy with the result. My son (16) has been doing extremely well on SD, he is taking singing and music lessons works out in the gym with a trainer, and has a wonderful team around him who take him to fun social activities which help him to integrate into the community. "Annat Dror-Sanchez is a mother of three. Her ten-year-old daughter has Autism and is currently in Self-Determination with the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center. As a parent advocate for children with learning differences, Annat has used her own experiences and knowledge to help others navigate through school IEP processes and Self Determination. Annat received a bachelor's in Psychology from UCLA and a Master's in Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She has trained with SCDD and the Autism Society of Los Angeles. Providing coaching and guidance to families so they may support and help their loved ones is Annat's passion.
